Hi again!
So.. I know I mentioned earlier about my love of nature, gardening and water.. here are a few of my favorite things.. “raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens”… no seriously!!! (Bonus points if you know that song!)I am a life long lover of all things nature.. animals, flowers, and the great outdoors. Hiking, camping, walking, being “in nature” is very filling for me! As for my love of animals.. the examples are endless (don’t worry I won’t go on too long!)! I was a vet tech for many years, ran a very successful pet sitting business. I was around horses from age 6-18 every day, every summer.. (loved those years!) I also grew up with dogs.. and then as I entered adulthood.. I was a “mother of six” for the better part of 21 years… 3 large dogs, and 3 cats.. all living in a peaceable kingdom together.. during those years I also did wildlife rehab and somewhere in the middle of all of it.. I had my own “litter” when my twins were born! I now have a most wonderful furbaby. A 98 lb rescue dog of unknown origin and boundless love.. who I adore.. I also have the great pleasure of participating in the “shared custody’ with my husband’s dog from his first marriage.. needless to say I dearly love and will always have dogs.. (I loved my cats too.. just got sooo sick of litter boxes… we’ll see if the future brings a cat into my home again… I am open to the possibility because I really do love cats too!!)When discussing flowers and my passion for being “in the garden”.. I started gardening when I was very young.. at my grandmothers side.. She instilled in me a deep seated love of being in the dirt.. planting, nurturing and enjoying growing things.. the pictures that you see on my website are all taken by me… many of them of flowers in my own garden.. Now that we live on our happy “green acre”, I have the great joy of creating, designing, building and planting garden beds to my hearts content.. I have two more garden beds to create.. and then I think (?) I’ll be done with making new ones.. but I’ll have a lifetime to enjoy keeping them blooming!Speaking of the pictures that I have taken brings me to photography.. another favorite hobby.. … I’m getting pretty good.. although the technical aspect still stumps me sometimes.. (one of these days I need to just go work for a photographer and learn the details.. ) For now tho.. I can get great pictures of “things”, I’ve actually gotten pretty good at taking pictures underwater too (fish don’t pose.. but you don’t have to worry about capturing a good smile either!) .. I can manipulate aperture priority pretty well…. and can position people really well.. I just get lost with the lighting sometimes.. and also getting those really cool “blurry background, clear well lit foreground pictures..”.. but you know.. I have the eye and the passion. The rest is details.. all part of the journey!I also mentioned water… I LOVE IT! Swimming.. diving.. boating.. being near it.. listening to it.. watching it.. if I’m ever stressed.. the best way for me is to go be by water and just allow the passive meditation of the moment to fill me.. I am a strong swimmer.. and a PADI certified master diver.. (that’s the highest level before entering the professional levels.. which is my next goal!) The peace in the womb of the sea is holy.. and the peace of being in the blue.. the silent endless beautiful blue.. is like nothing else on earth..
While we are on expensive hobbies.. (which is why I don’t get to dive or ski as often as I like!) J ) I learned to snow ski when I was 23.. and have loved it ever since.. there is a rhythm and a flow to skiing that fills me the same way horseback riding (I trained English jump riding up until I was 18) and a good long swim does (I used to distance swim).. love it!
And since we are talking about general “Sporty” type hobbies.. I have been white water rafting, rappelling, zip lining, parasailing, and sky diving (yes out of a perfectly good airplane!)… While I’m not “an adrenaline junky” .. I am an “experience junky’! (my number one strength in the Clifton strength finders is INPUT and I love EXPERIENCES! Which also explains my love, passion and lust for travel.. I’ve been many places and my “bucket list’ is still very long with many more places to travel!)
And finally.. in case you haven’t figured it out yet.. I love to write! (My #2 strength is communication.. which explains a lot!) I love to put thoughts on paper.. To find the right words.. to create the image.. to bring a smile to your face! J
I truly hope this little journey into “who is Kim anyway” & “a few of my favorite things” has brought a smile to your face.. perhaps opened up some new ideas.. or maybe even inspired you a little to realize.. we are all on the journey of life together.. it’s a heck of a lot easier and much more fun to journey with someone who understands, is on your side, and wants to support you in reaching your goals! (which is really what being a life coach is all about! And why I would LOVE to work with YOU! CONTACT ME.. & lets talk about it!)
